Skirts

Fri May 4, 2007, 1:48 AM
I normally make pencil skirts. This is just because they are my favourite kind of skirts but I don't mind doing another style. Styles include the rara skirt, puff skirt, a-line, simple and panelled skirt. Examples of these will be coming shortly.

Prices once again vary on the type of fabric you want and the style of skirt.

Camisole Tops

Fri May 4, 2007, 1:40 AM
Camisole tops look fantastic on everyone. They are flattering to smaller figures, average figures or larger figures and can be styled to suit your personality. The cost of a camisole top depends solely on what fabric and trims you want. It doesn't take me long to sew them up but the pattern can take a while depending on what style you would like. The price could range from as little as £20.

Silk Cami's
Silk camisole tops feel and look fantastic. Soft and non-irratable against the skin, they drape beautifully and make the summer outfit. Silk is very versatile in style, meaning that it would look great with a pair of jeans or under a suit or cardigan. The silk I use for Camisole tops is Silk Charmeuse which is 19MM in weight. The range of colours for silk charmeuse is vast and every colour just looks gorgeous.

Silk charmeuse is difficult to source in the UK, where I'm based, and the prices so far are pretty much stuck on £37 per yard. Luckily, it only takes one yard to make a stunning Camisole.

Styles of Camisole can vary and examples will be coming soon!

Trims
Trims can be of lace or ribbon and can be anywhere.

Beads, sequins or ribbon work will be applied by hand, so the cost will rise by each hour of work it takes.

Underbust corsets

Sun Apr 29, 2007, 3:53 AM
Underbust are much the same as overbust corsets, only they dont cover your bust.

Single Layer Underbusts
As these are often tiny in length only a quater metre of coutil is used, and therefore the cost is kept to a minimum. Much the same as an overbust, but they range from £45.

Fashion (2/3Layer) Underbusts
Same as the overnusts but obviously shorter in length and dont cover your bust. Start from around £85.

Styles
There are many styles you can choose from, so feel free to discuss your ideas with me :)

Overbust Corsets

Thu Apr 26, 2007, 12:37 PM
Overbust corsets come in a variety of designs that are visually pleasing and comfortable to wear.

Single Layer Corset
A single layer corset which can be worn beneath clothing is made from cotton coutil, which is a fabric that was made primarily for use in corsets. It is comfortable, absorbent and most importantly, it doesn't stretch, so it will hold all day without becoming loose or sagging.

Coutil comes in three colours, black, white and "flesh" which is a peach colour. As it is 100% cotton it can be dyed to a colour of your choice, which is great if you have a particular colour of clothing you always like to wear, or if you have a favourite colour.

Single layer overbusts could cost as little as £95, and they last for quite a while.

Fashion (2/3 Layer) Corsets
Fashion Corsets have the coutil lining, and an interfaced fashion fabric, if you want an extra strong corset then a third layer (often another stiff cotton is used) is sandwiched between the two layers. The fashion fabric (top layer) of your corset can be anything, as long as it is not stretchy of course.

Some good examples of fashion fabrics that you could choose from are; Silk Brocade, Silk Dupioni, Silk or Acetate taffeta, or Wool/Silk Tartan.

Fashion Corsets can be made by myself for as little as £120.

Boning
I double bone all corsets in the seams but this is only one method of boning a corset and if you have a preference then I can accomodate that. I find that boning in the seams is neat, comfortable and once again, visually pleasing.
